Paulo Mariotti was born in Brazil in 1968. He studied Graphic Arts at the FAAP Foundation in São Paulo. Armed with his diploma, he moved to Paris in 1991 to study literature at the Université de la Sorbonne. In 1999, he joined the creative team of Vapeurs, a communications agency, where he began illustrating for magazines and advertisements. At the same time, he became a permanent journalist for Vogue Brazil in Paris and for the 24-hour Brazilian news channel, Globo News.
For Image Republic, Paulo Mariotti has created an exclusive collection based on travel, drawings with a vintage atmosphere, featuring iconic destinations such as Los Angeles, Rio, Sydney, Rome or Monte-Carlo. These illustrations are available in different sizes, 30x40 cm, 40x50 cm and 56x76 cm, a line of stationery includes Notebooks and Postcards.
Paulo Mariotti takes us to Rio de Janeiro, with the enigmatic panorama of Guanabara Bay where buildings and rocks seem to compete for access to the open sea. Between swarming piles and confrontation of reliefs, the Brazilian illustrator lets our gaze float on this vertiginous coastline nibbled by urbanization. The composition even comes to tame the Sugar Loaf, this giant granite block both resisting the onslaught of the city and perched to contemplate the horizon. A landscape of sensations between suffocation and breath of air, not to forget to go up there, if you go to Rio.
