Sarah Mari Shaboyan is an Armenian-born illustrator and graphic artist. Originally from Yerevan, she now lives in Italy. She graduated from the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts with a degree in Art and Design in Moscow.
Her artistic language is built on pencil, lines, and shading; she sees graphic drawing as “a means of communication and a way of perceiving the world.”
Urban motifs, architectural interiors, and scenes of everyday city life often appear in her work — her drawings transform the noise and chaos of cities into visual harmony.
Her style can be described as a search for “rhythm and balance” even within charos: her illustrations are symponies of lines, forms, and moods, where buildings and streets seem to come alive.
Her cients include Adobe, the Washington Post, The Boston Globe, National Geographic, Die Zeit, Corriere della Sera, and others..
