Emilie Arnoux is a painter and signs her works "Elim". Her childhood spent on a beach in Cabourg, and her passion for water sports impregnated her visual universe very early on, as did her fascination for America in the 1950s and 1960s. At the age of 10, she collected old advertisements for the Matson Line and its Los Angeles-Hawaii cruises. The vintage covers of the Saturday Evening Post, Gil Elvgreen's pin-ups and Norman Rockwell's illustrations nourished her future style.
At the Ecole Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques and at the Arts Déco, she was fascinated by scenography and illustration, but she definitively chose painting and soon returned to live next to the sea. Her style is noticed, her large oil paintings mix POP, beach culture and surf art, and give off a contagious positive energy.
The enthusiasm aroused by his painting enabled her to open her own gallery in Trouville, close to the sea. Her works are exhibited in the French Pavilion of the Shanghai World Fair and are exported all over the world, to New York and to the world's contemporary art fairs.
Emilie's paintings are an invitation to travel, to the nostalgia of childhood and the wonder of the Californian dream. They take you away like a road movie: close your eyes, you will soon feel the warm wind caressing your eyelids...
